Roman State
The Roman state as a chronological entity. The founding of the city of Rome occurred near the end of the reign of Jotham, king of Judah, and is used as a chronological reference point for dating events in sacred history. Judea was subjected to the Romans by Pompey; the year is reckoned by year of the City.
